World 1 Boss complete!


Hello everyone!
Its been a while since I've posted any updates on Can Jump. I was busy with a combination of school and other things that took higher priority. Despite this, I'm happy to report that the final boss of world 1 has been completed! Attached below is a short preview of what to expect from the dangerous (yet inexperienced) Lord Jitomate!

It feels so rewarding finally figuring out how to properly program everything I wanted to achieve with this fight! The hardest part was easily trying to get Jitomate to correctly move to the platform closest to the player's last recorded position. It seems that so far programming has proven to be the weakest part of my game dev skillset 😅
I shouldn't speak too soon though, since I still need to create the music and necessary sound effects before I can release the world 1 demo. I've set a goal for myself to release it by Sunday, so let's see if I can keep my promise!
On a side note, I wonder how game devs know how to sort their release updates numerically. Should I consider the world 1 demo as Can Jump 1.0? Or maybe as a pre-alpha/alpha launch? I still need to look into what those terms mean.
